StoneyFest throughout
the years
StoneyFest: 2021
StoneyFest returned in 2021 and (pun alert) we didn’t skip a beat. Brian Lemert performed for the third time as did URB, always a crowd pleaser. The opening band was HomeBy10, founded by Mike Stone and making their first appearance at StoneyFest. Because of the pandemic, the TROY School Band was not able to perform this year. However, the band program is up and running again and we expect to see the band return to the StoneyFest stage in 2022. A highlight of the event was the presentation of an electronic drum kit to a young man named Dante (pictured left). He is 10-years old and came to us through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Dante will also receive lessons as part of our Rock On! Program.
StoneyFest: 2019
Several changes were made to the format of the event for 2019. First, the event was shortened by one hour to create the feel of a continuous program, rather than a come-and-go music festival. For the adults, a beer garden a beer garden was added along with the return of the food trucks. For the young ones, the Kid Zone included games and craft supplies to make and trick out a customized cardboard guitar. Finally, several items were up for bid in a silent auction, highlighted by a guitar signed by the members of the band Styx.
Stoneyfest: 2018
The Aaron M. Stone Memorial Fund held its first major event on July 22 of 2018. The StoneyFest Music Festival was held at the beautiful Sweetwater Pavilion in Fort Wayne. The event featured five local bands, highlighted by the stage debut of the TROY Center Band. An estimated 270 people attended the event, which raised $14,000 to support the work of the Memorial Fund.
You have probably noticed these fantastic images capturing these events, a special thank you to photographer Abigail Edmonds. Yes, you ‘re amazing!
